Je portais un masque, comme nous le faisons tous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simplement, sur les rives du lac de Hali, alors que les Hyades luisaient dans le ciel, tout le monde \u00e9tait pour une fois pleinement conscient de participer \u00e0 cette mascarade. Nous tous, hypocrites, dissimulateurs. Nous avons dans\u00e9 et fait la r\u00e9v\u00e9rence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’\u00e9tais pleine de peur et d’euphorie \u00e0 l’approche des douze coups de l’horloge. Nous \u00f4terions alors nos d\u00e9guisement pour appara\u00eetre sinc\u00e8res, v\u00eatus du ciel et de la lumi\u00e8re crue d’Ald\u00e9baran, comme \u00e0 l’heure de notre naissance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’avais peur qu’il n’y ait rien sous ce masque quand je l’aurais laiss\u00e9 glisser. Je craignais de me dissoudre dans ma propre propension \u00e0 m’adapter aux d\u00e9sirs des autres, \u00e0 \u00eatre un ensemble de reflets enti\u00e8rement vou\u00e9s \u00e0 plaire. Je craignais d’\u00eatre fausse et inconsciente de moi-m\u00eame au point que le concept de \u00ab\u00a0moi\u00a0\u00bb soit inconsistant ou inexistant au moment de v\u00e9rit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je me sentais enthousiaste \u00e0 l’id\u00e9e que, peut-\u00eatre, mes murs se briseraient, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant la personne authentique et inconnue qui se trouvait prisonni\u00e8re de leur enceinte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was wearing a mask, like we all do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simply, on the shores of Lake Hali, while the Hyades shone in the skies, everyone was fully aware, for once, of taking part in this masquerade. All of us, hypocrites, dissemblers. We danced along and curtseyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was full of fear and exhilaration at the approach of the clock twelve strikes. We would take off our disguises, then, to appear sincere, clothed in the heavens and the crude light of Aldebaran, as at the hour of our birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was afraid, above all, that there would be nothing under this mask when I shed it. That I would dissolve in my own propension to adjust to the desires of everyone else, to be a set of reflections. That I would be so untrue and unaware of myself that even the concept of me was one of variability or inexistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I felt exhilarated that maybe, my walls would break and reveal the authentical and unknowed person that was kept prisoner inside.<\/p>\n
